Healthy eating, no dieting
Healthy nutrition is based on natural healthy foods. Natural food is in its original form as nature has provided us; it is not at all or only minimally processed, it is not genetically modified and contains no artificial additives. Such a food has no trans fats, artificial sweeteners, high fructose corn syrup, monosodium glutamate nor any other “improvements” from the food industry. The diet should be based on this natural food and meals prepared from such foods.
It is wise for everybody to follow a plant-based diet with a regular intake of vegetables, legumes, and nuts. The addition (or not) of whole grains, humanely raised and grass-fed meats, eggs, and milk products is the decision of the individual and should be based on his or her own constitution and preferences.
The best foods are natural, local and organic. Healthy eating is lifelong affair that should be shared with one’s partner or the whole family and will assure overall health. Dieting tends to be time-limited, often unbalanced, and without long-lasting results, even sometimes endangering your health.
My recommendations
- Clean your cabinets and dispose of foods that do not have nutritional value and do not buy such foods in the future.
- Plan your meals and physical activity.
- When going out, take a healthy snack with you in order to prevent an unplanned shopping spree of unhealthy food.
